WAT JAENG (วัดแจ้ง)
Wat Jaeng or the "Monastery of the Light" is located off the city island in the eastern
area of Ayutthaya in Phai Ling Sub-district, Moo 4, Chumchon Wat Jaeng Rang. The
former monastery was situated east of the railway road.

Wat Jao Dok Dua was positioned in the north, while Wat Luang Phor Kho Hak, earlier
called Wat Chang, stood on its south.

In situ is a large mound with scattered bricks, as remainder of the former monastery. In
the location a commemoration vihara has been built.

Its historical background and period of construction are unknown.

The monastery is only mentioned on a Fine Arts Department map drafted in 1993 and is
situated in Geo Coord: +14°21' 30.89" N, +100° 35' 4.60" E.
