WAT JULA MANI (วัดจุฬามณี)
Wat Jula Mani or the "Monastery of the Crest-Jewel" was located off the city island in
the eastern area in Phai Ling sub-district.

The monastery was situated on the south bank of
Khlong Kramang near the confluence
of the latter with
Khlong Dusit and Khlong Ban Bat. Wat Sam Plum was located in the
south.

The Chronicles of Luang Prasoet mention that Wat Jula Mani was built in 1458 by King
Borommatrailokanat (r.1448-1463) of the Suphannaphum Dynasty. Later Royal
Chronicles of Ayutthaya, written after the fall of the capital in 1767, put its construction in
the year 1444. [1]

There are no visible traces remaining of this monastery at ground level.

The site is indicated on a 1993 and a 2005 Fine Arts Department map. Some remains of
the temple were excavated by the Fine Arts Department in Geo Coord:
(later).
