Wat Mai Sra Bua was located off the city island in the northern area of Ayutthaya in Khlong Sra Bua sub-district.
The monastery was situated adjacent (east) of Wat Khok Phraya and north of Wat Hat Dawat.
There are no traces anymore visible of the monastery above ground level.
Historical data about the monastery and its construction are unknown.
The site is only indicated on a 2005 Fine Arts Department map as วัดใหม่สระบัว. Some remains of the temple were
excavated by the Fine Arts Department (FAD) in Geo Coord: +14° 21' 48.92" N, +100° 33' 26.58" E.
