Wat Rang (Lit: abandoned monastery) was located off the city island in the northern
area of Ayutthaya in Khlong Sra Bua sub-district.
The monastery was situated north of Wat Intharam (active temple) and Wat Vihan Thong
(ruin).
There are no traces anymore visible of the monastery above ground level.
Historical data about the monastery and its construction are unknown.
The site is only indicated on a 1974 Fine Arts Department (FAD) map and on a 2005
FAD map, designated on the latter as วัดร้าง (๘). Some remains of the temple were
excavated by the Fine Arts Department (FAD) in Geo Coord: +14° 22' 2.34" N, +100°
34' 1.15" E.
