Wat Sakae or the "Monastery of the Takeo Bushwillow" (1) is a not restored brick
mound located off the city island in the northern area of Ayutthaya in Ban Ko sub-district.
The ruin of the monastery is located at the confluence of the (new) Lopburi River and the
(new) Pa Sak River, opposite Wat Chong Lom island and east of Wat Tong Pu.
The site is located on the premises of the present Wat Tong Pu school.
In situ remains only some brickwork, probably from the old ordination hall, enveloped in
a tree and some broken parts of Buddha statues.
The monastery features on a 1993 Fine Arts Department map but is not denominated.
Historical data about the monastery and its construction are unknown.
