| Wat Rerai or the Monastery of the Cricket is located off the city island in the eastern area in Phai Ling Sub-district; south of Chedi Wat Sam Plum along the east side of road No 3477 on the Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon school premises. Locals told that the last brick work traces of the monastery disappeared when the school was constructed. Its historical background and period of construction are unknown. Wat Rerai is indicated on different maps of the Fine Arts Department drafted over the years. The monastery was located in Geo. Coord.: 14° 21' 3.77" N, 100° 35' 34.75" E. |
