| Wat Saphan Ngoen or the Monastery of the Silver Bridge is a defunct monastery once located on the city island in the eastern part of Ayutthaya in Pratu Chai Sub-district. The monastery was situated on the crossing of Khlong Nai Kai (present Khlong Makham Riang) and Pa Thon Street, as thus in the vicinity of the bridge over the canal. The temple stood on Khlong Nai Kai's west bank, easy accessible via the waterways. There are no traces anymore visible of the monastery above ground level. Historical data about the monastery and its construction are unknown. The site is indicated on Phraya Boran Rachathanin's map drafted in 1926 and was located in geographical coordinates: 14° 21' 15.54" N, 100° 34' 28.64" E. |
