| Wat Wihan Khian or the Monastery of the Sermon Hall of Writing is located off the city island in the southern area of Ayutthaya in Samphao Lom Sub-district. The defunct monastery was situated just south of Wat Khok Sung. In situ is a mound covered in dense vegetation. There were no traces of any brickwork seen. Its historical background and period of construction are unknown. The monastery is mentioned on Phraya Boran Ratchathanin's map drafted in 1926. The site is situated in geographical coordinates: 14° 20' 31.04" N, 100° 33' 58.40" E. |
