Wat Khok Ta Thuai is situated off the city island in the eastern area of Ayutthaya, in the Phai Ling Sub-district. The site consists of a brick mound, a remnant of the former temple encroached by vegetation.
The defunct monastery was situated north of Wat Chedi Yot Hak, south of Wat Wihan Satru, east of Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon and on the same horizontal axis as the latter.
Its historical background and period of construction are unknown.
Khun Chin indicated the site during a visit to the area in March 2016.
