Wat Rang was located off the city island in the eastern area of Ayutthaya in the Phai Ling Sub-district.
The monastery stood east of Wat Chedi Yot Hak, on the west bank of Khlong Pho.
There are no traces of the monastery above ground level.
Historical data about the monastery and its construction are unknown.
The site is only indicated on a 2007 CE Fine Arts Department map (FAD).
Based on the 2007 CE FAD map, the site was in geographical coordinates: 14° 20' 40.57" N, 100° 36' 0.62" E.
