Wat Kuti or the Monastery of the Hermitage of the Monk is situated in the southwestern area, off Ayutthaya's city island, in Ban Pom sub-district (adjacent of Pak Kran sub-district). The ruin lies along the south bank of the Chao Phraya River, south west and in the vicinity of Wat Sanam Chai. In situ is a brick mound covered with vegetation. The ruin is indicated on Phraya Boran Rachathanin’s map of 1926. Its historical background and period of construction are not known. The brick mound of Wat Kuti is located in Geo Coord: 14° 20' 25.32" N, 100° 32' 38.59" E. |
