Wat Kradok or the Monastery of the Waver was located off the city island in the eastern area of Ayutthaya in Khlong Suan Phlu Sub-district. , Wat Phra Non and Wat Chumphon were situated on its western side, while Wat Bot Daeng and Wat Rang stood in the east. The three monasteries could be accessed by the canals Khlong Suan Phlu, Khlong Dusit and Khlong Wat Phra Non. Khlong Wat Pra Non passed south of the monasteries. The site is completely covered in vegetation. In situ is a brick mound with the remains of multiple monastic structures. A commemoration vihara displaying a number of Buddha images has been built on top of the mound. Historical data about the monastery and its construction is unknown. The site is indicated on a 1973 and 1994 Fine Arts Department map. Some remains of the temple were excavated by the Fine Arts Department (FAD) in geographical coordinates: 14° 20' 26.51" N, 100° 35' 24.62" E. |
